The 2009 festival was held between 11th and 16th May and was a six day event, with five days of workshops and one festival day.
Nearly 350 school children came to the festival in the village of Kevljani in the Prijedor Municipality, and engaged with volunteers from 14 countries who facilitated different art, drama, music, dance and circus skills workshops.
The theme of the Festival was Nature, with an emphasis on recycling, so volunteers and children were encouraged to incorporate these two elements in their respective workshops.
This event was put together in partnership with P.O.P. Youth Partnership Programme from Banja Luka, Positive Play from Sarajevo and The Serious Road Trip from Romania, as well as practical support during the month of the festival was also received from the Army of Bosnia-Herzegovina(supplied, delivered, erected and pulled down tents and mobile kitchen), Omarska Police (help with safety and security of children, teachers, volunteers, and parents), our funders and sponsors.
Most Mira carried out an evaluation to help us learn for any future participatory collaborative work with children in a multicultural setting. Children who took as well as many Most Mira volunteers shared their daily experiences and gave their formal feedback to the evaluator, who was observing during the week.
