Fundraising Evening at the Frontline Club

On March 1st Martin Bell OBE hosted a Most Mira event at the Frontline Club in London. It was a fundraising and networking event to help make our Peace Centre Project a reality – to build a new peace centre out of the ruin that stands now. The event was attended by over 90 people interested in Most Mira and Bosnia; representatives from the media, theatre, arts charities, peace building organisations, the armed forces and the Bosnian diaspora.
The trustees were thrilled with how the evening progressed. Beginning with a drinks reception, generously sponsored by Kate Gavron, then an address by founding trustee Kemal Pervanic (camp survivor) explaining why Most Mira was founded and why the centre is needed, followed by Vernes Causevic (chief architect on this project, a Bosnian himself) explaining what the building will look like and how it would be used. A lively Q&A resulted, after which Kirsteen Tait asked for help and donations towards this exciting new step for Most Mira.
We have made new friends and contacts and raised almost a quarter of the funds we need to start the building process. We still have a long way to go and this was a wonderful start. Many thanks to all who helped, attended and donated.
