Trauma
Every day we are exposed to some fear (trauma) whether it is family or socially related. What's trauma? Trauma is a damage to the psyche that occurs as a result of a psychologically stressful event. Common causes of trauma are humiliation, sexual abuse, bullying, and other forms of violence.
A lot of people don't know how to heal their trauma, so they "keep" it inside and pass it on to the next generations through their children. Based on war related trauma - or this postwar one - each carries its own whole, as a result of the subconscious that danger can always lurk behind the corner. Disturbing memories such as images, thoughts, some places, nightmares, insomnia can haunt a person and renew the trauma in their heads.
Parents who survived the war and all war-related events, pass on their trauma to their children by separating children by nationality, blaming directly another ethnic group for the conflicts that took place. The consequences of these traumas are complicated and profound, and survivors of these experiences are diagnosed with a "personality disorder". It's hard to handle this trauma, so some people decide to end their lives.
The state should help all people, to talk as much as possible, to make their voices heard. Also, people need to move and start talking about their problems, and therefore seek professional help. Our generation is experiencing trauma more and more. Our parents are our role models who should support us, and not put pressure on us.
Be supportive.
Don't let all of us suffer,
like you did.
Protect our mental state,
free our lives
and horizons of what lies ahead tomorrow.
Trauma can be healed, find a way.
Help each other!
